In Mecha Ritz, I didn't get punished for being awful with no ending, I got to fight a really cool boss and won while I was one hit away from death. This game makes it easy for me to enjoy the bullet hell experience while still feeling like I'm actually good at the game.Oh, yeah: the FM synth music is amazing. The only real problem I had with the game is that there's no explanation whatsoever as to how things work. How do you gain Rank? What is Heat? Why do bosses shoot a million bullets that then disappear? A game manual or tutorial would fix this right up.Eventually I'll get the hang of the scoring/ranking system and I won't be as terrible. I can only imagine how much more fun the game will be then.. This is a really really good shmup. It's beatable if you aren't that good, since the RANK will stay low and you'll be able to handle things, but also very challenging if you're good at the genre since you can consistently raise your rank and face down very difficult bosses and enemies (with a high score to match). Lots of ships to unlock, good music, bad anime artwork in the cutscenes, and ludicrous translation -- it's basically perfect. Plus it's cheap! The one problem I have with it -- and it is indeed a problem -- is that it doesn't have autofire. Please do not make shmups without autofire, I would like my keyboard to remain healthy and strong!!e: for some reason steam's time measure doesn't work very well on this game. i have played it more than 5 minutes, honest. Mecha Ritz's originality feels like a breath of fresh air in the Shoot 'Em Up genre. Fast paced action with an FM Synth soundtrack. I wish more games were this fun. A tour de force, no less.. *Note: I didn't have internet during the time I played the game so time on record is way off. This is a fantastic shmup experience right here. Wonderful bullet spreads with gameplay that basically changes the better you are. As you do better, the spreads become harder and move faster, enemies power up, and YOU become stronger. It really gives a good sense of synergy for the player and just makes thing flow until you get crushed by a wall of bullets.Speed, main attack, special attack, and bomb all differ from ship to ship offering unique playtroughs with each one. You're even given options to change certain color aesthetics of the game to you liking with more options unlocking the more you play. The game can also be customized a bit (manipulating the ranking, etc.) before jumping into the action. The music, sound, and aesthetics of the game offer some kind of retro/cyber punkish kind of feel to it. The tracks in the game are great, sound effects are pleasing and never get old, and the game is colorfull and full of fantastic designs. This is definitely a title that deserves to be held up above the droves of other shmups that are rushing into the market. Fans of the genre shouldn't think twice about adding this to their library of games. Even at full price this game is less than a premium fast food meal and tastes even better.. It's the quirky coffee-themed Battle Garegga I never knew I needed.. From now on, Mecha Ritz is THE shoot ’em up. Forget about Crimzon Clovers, DoDonPachis and Mushihimesamas. There is only Mecha Ritz. It’s so creative that it will surprise you again and again. It’s so dynamic that it will put you into constant shooting-n-dodging trance. And it’s music rocks. Buy this ♥♥♥♥ing game.
